So we can't be sure that t-stones will be available ingame, but Anet is looking into it.
Well, it means they are still deciding what to put a pricetag on.

However, I would stress one thing: if, for example, a "+20% damage +30HP blue glowy sword" can drop as a random drop in a dungeon, this may well count as "achievable through regular play" - but it may only drop as commonly as a voltaic spear. So, possible, but not likely.

Really, while I don't really find the transmutation stones as a deal breaker, I am rather surprised Anet went for it.

HOWEVER, for HoM specific rewards, I could swear that they stated in an interview somewhere that they will be a special case, like unlimited free transmutation stones just for them or something.

Your new Guild Wars 2 characters will be able to use these low-level items and armor right away, and we'll provide you with the means to use these special items as you advance to higher levels.
Either that means scaling or transmutation.

Still doesn't mean they'll be worth using though, right? I mean, in GW1 you can still use the "bonus" weaps if you have the GotY edition for as long as you want... there just comes a point where you can do better. Also, with so many people in GW1 getting to 30/50, these skins won't even be close to uncommon.

I just hope that these GW2 titles/items don't translate to more "rank" discrimination like what's happened for a long time in various ways in GW1. But who am I kidding... there will probably be 50/50 only guilds and the like anyway, due to general opinions of "leetness" (i.e. I'm more leet than you because I spent 4000 hours playing a video game rather than your 3000 hours.)

Not sure about that... I think even 25% of the players who post of Guru don't have 30 pts, and these are serious GW fans...

You have to remember the majority of GW players don't visit forums, don't join guilds, and are just playing. I'm sure there are players who don't even know the HoM awards exist.

There MIGHT be Guilds like that, but they'd be shooting themselves in the foot.

In any case, I would never join a guild like that, even if I make it to 50/50.

Back on topic:

If you want to keep playing, just keep playing! I'm just slowly filling in my minis as birthdays come and as opportunities to do elite areas come up.

I'm thinking of starting to max my EoTN rep titles to...

We won't need to use transmutation stones for HoM items:
